Silke Daneels
Silke Daneels studied Fine Arts and Illustration at the Sint Lucas Academy in Antwerp, Belgium. She graduated in 2005. Since then she illustrates for many and various clients. She designs book covers voor publishing houses, draws greeting cards and designs websites. Silke also owns her own line of birth announcements. As a graphic designer she is much-loved by well-known Belgian publishing houses. That means we get to see her work regularly in magazines such as Weekend Knack, De Standaard, De Morgen, Vitaya Magazine.
Silke's illustrations are quaintly nostalgic through the collage-style use of details that remind us of a not too distant past. Old prints, drawings and photos- taken from books, magazines or photo albums of people long forgotten: Silke is inspired by everything she sees. She combines elegance, charm and humor in her work, to create images that are delicately crafted.
Silke has turned her passion for illustration into a career. Isn't life just perfect?
